A French Regence Armchair

A mid 19th century French Napoleon III period, Regence style 'Fauteuil à la Reine' walnut armchair of good quality and of Classical proportions, the backrest, rails and legs are decorated with bas and haut relief carved foliate motifs. This armchairs is designed with sweeping arms and with comfortable, broad and deep seats. Please note the quality of the haut-relief carved decorations on the back rests, of the armrests and of the aprons and legs. Area of Paris, circa 1870.
