An elegant and comfortable, finely carved and gilt, French Napoleon III period Louis XVI style Fauteuil armchair, the frame decorated with haut-relief carved and gilded Neoclassical motifs such as ‘continuous ribbon’ pattern mouldings, acanthus leaves and paterae. The Medallion backrests are decorated with carved knotted bows finials. Area of Paris, circa 1860.
