A fine, 18th century French Louis XV period carved walnut 'Fauteuil à la Reine' armchair with an upholstered seat, back-rest and arm-rests and retaining a well-worn velvet fabric edged by bronze studs. Please note the exquisitely carved mouldings and the broadness of the proportions, which makes this a comfortable drawing room armchair. Area of Paris, circa 1760.
