A set of four 19th century, French Napoleon III period, haut-relief carved and Trianon grey painted Louis XV style fauteuil armchairs. Elegant and finely proportioned, broad and comfortable to sit on. Note the play of light on the finely carved and raised mouldings and foliate decorations and on the nicely-worn painted finish. Area of Paris, circa 1870.
