A 19th century French Napoleon III period, Louis XVI style, solid oak wing-back library armchair decorated with haut-relief carved "string of pearls" and acanthus leaf mouldings and with paterae, the old leather upholstery edged by bronze coloured bass studs. The width and depth of this armchair makes it very comfortable to sit on. Area of Paris, circa 1870.
