An elegant and comfortable, finely carved and painted, French Napoleon III period, Louis XVI style Fauteuil armchair, the frame with haut-relief carved Neoclassical motifs including ‘string-of-pearls’ and acanthus leaf pattern mouldings, fluting and paterae. The top rail of the large medallion back rest with a carved Medici urn motif. Please note the exquisite quality of the hand-carved decorations. Area of Paris, circa 1860.
