A 19th century French Directoire style carved and painted Bergere armchair of good Neoclassical proportions, standing on elegantly turned 'Jacob' feet, designed with elegantly sweeping arms and a splayed back-rest, the shaped seat fitted with a separate cushion for extra comfort. Please note the elegance of the sweep of the back-rest. Area of Paris, circa 1880.

Condition report: In good and as found condition, showing slight wear in keeping with its age. One carved 'button' missing from an armrest can be replaced. The velvet fabric may be reusable.
Dimensions: Width 60 cm, depth 47 cm, overall height 87 cm. Height of seat 47 cm.
