An 18th century French provincial 'fauteuil' armchair, the oak timber with a strong patination, the surfaces well burnished by use. Fitted with a woven-rush envelope seat. Please note the shape of the front rails and the double-arches of the ladder-back. Area of Normandy, circa 1780.
