A pair of 19th century French Directoire style 'Fauteuil' armchairs of understated and Classical proportions, carved, turned and painted and decorated with finely carved mouldings, 'paterae' and fluting. Please note the wonderful luminosity of the original painted finish. Area of Paris, circa 1880.
