A pair of vintage French Louis XVI style carved and turned solid oak "Bergere" armchairs of understated, masculine elegance, the backrests and seats decorated with haut-relief carved mouldings, the rails with paterae, standing on finely turned and fluted legs. Very comfortable to sit on. Note the exceptional width of these armchairs. Paris, circa 1950.

Condition report: In good and original condition, showing very slight wear in keeping with age. The fabric can possibly be retained, after a steam clean.
