A 19th century French Louis XV style haut-relief carved solid oak and glazed single door “Vitrine“, the “Chapeau de Gendarme” pediment decorated with a bouquet of flowers (an allegory for Spring Time) above an out-sized foliate scroll, the panels of the doors with haut-relief foliate scrolls. The top door panel fitted with a pane of clear glass, the oak timbers with a wonderful, luminous patina. Area of Normandy, circa 1860. Expected in Melbourne in Oct 2020.
Condition report: In excellent, unrestored condition.
