A fine, late 19th century French Louis XIV style, haut-relief carved solid oak double-face bureau (partners' desk), each of its long sides fitted with three drawers. Standing on carved, turned and fluted legs joined by a turned 'H' stretcher, each of the drawers retaining its elaborately carved timber and brass handle. Area of Paris, circa 1880.
Condition report: In good and un-restored condition. The leahter is well-worn but in usable condition. The timbers have a very dry oak patina, and need polishing. Checks need to be carried out on drawer runners and stops.
