A rare, early 19th century French Provincial, dark amber-coloured hand-blown glass "Bonbonne" demijohn bottle, used to store wine, cider or Calvados brandy. These types of bottles have the wonderful and rustic character of hand blown glass made in rural France. Showing the wobbles and trapped bubbles of their early construction technique. Area of Normandy, circa 1820.
Condition report: In excellent, unrestored condition. The edges of the top are intact, with the maker's rough finish.
