An elegant and finely-built early 20th century French Louis XVI style solid mahogany two-door bookcase, the top fitted with tall glazed doors and with adjustable-height shelves, the lower doors paneled and retaining the original hinges and locks. Note the internal brass upright and the supporting brass brackets to stop the shelves sagging under the weight of heavy books. Area of Paris, circa 1930.
