Refund and Returns Information

Please note that all sales are final and items remain the property of Miguel Meirelles Antiques until fully paid. We may at our discretion offer items to be paid up to a maximum of three months, unless otherwise agreed. If you would like more information on an item's condition prior to purchase, please contact us.

To customers who have a change of mind (or of circumstances) regarding the purchase of an item, we may at our discretion re-sell the item to recoup costs, offer to re-sell that item on consignment, or even suggest another avenue of public sale (e.g. another antique dealer, an auction house, eBay or another online marketplace).

Our business takes a 40% commission fee on the sale prices of items sold on consignment by us

All our displayed items are priced in their as-listed condition. These are genuine items which we normally display, and sell, in their unrestored condition - occasionally fully restored. The worn condition of each piece is not, in our view, considered a fault. Each item has had a life prior to our ownership and shows its age and usage. We endeavour to describe an item as accurately as possible, including stating all wear and tear and any existing damages.

We have a very accomplished in-house restoration/conservation workshop and can offer to our customers any required repairs, restoration and conservation work, as well as advise them on the best maintenance of their items.

Once you receive an item, if it is not as-described or if it is newly-damaged, and that damage was not disclosed to you prior to payment / delivery, we will refund you in full unless it has occurred during shipping. Once items have been shipped, if an order arrives damaged, or is misplaced, please advise us immediately and provide us with photographic evidence.  If an item is damaged, Miguel Meirelles Antiques will discuss the best options for carrying out repairs.. 

Miguel Meirelles Antiques takes the utmost care in the packing and sending of products. We use Australia Post for items under 20kg that we believe aren't too fragile for this mode of transport; and use tried and tested truck carriers for Australia-wide deliveries and international shippers for overseas deliveries. 

We insure all items delivered via Australia Post and via courier, truck carrier and international transport.
