A Louis XVI Fauteuil Armchair

A fine, 18th century French Louis XVI period carved and painted 'Fauteuil à la Reine' armchair with an upholstered seat, the "Chapeau de Gendarme" back-rest and arm-rests retaining the well-worn, original paint finish. Please note the elegance of the proportions and the arched-back and the wonderful patina of the painted finish. Please note the smaller dimensions of this armchair, originally destined for a drawing room, now best placed in a bedroom. Area of Paris, circa 1780.
Condition report: In good and original condition, the painted finish left showing wear in keeping with its age and use. This armchair has been freshly upholstered.
