A French Directoire style commode of three drawers, of Neoclassical design and decorated with 'Jacob' style pilasters and legs (Georges Jacob, Paris 1739 – 1814), the bottom rail decorated with a haut relief carved frieze. The surfaces of the solid cherrywood timbers have faded nicely over time. Area of Isle de France, circa 1900.
