A French Empire style ceiling lantern, the pediment with elegantly scroll-work and foliate pattern crown, the plinth with a central pine cone and with swan finials, retaining the original cast, faceted glass body. Paris, circa 1950.
Please note: the swan motif is a symbol of Josephine Bonaparte. It refers to the black swans that the navigator Nicolas Baudin (1754-1803) brought back to France from South Australia, and which Josephine Bonaparte took for her aviary at the 'Château de Malmaison'.

Condition report: In good and original condition. Fully rewired to Australian safety standards using gold silk electrical cords.

Dimensions: Diameter 31 cm, height 36 cm plus chain and ceiling cup. Current drop is 100 cm. Please enquire if you need a specific drop from your ceiling for this lantern.
