A French Louis XVI Demilune Commode

An elegant, French Louis XVI style, cherrywood demi-lune commode, of excellent proportions and with and a shallow depth, and made with fine workmanship typical of the fine cabinetmaking workshops of the Parisian 'Faubourg Saint Antoine' district, the maker's stickers on the rear. The façade is fitted with four drawers, the flanks with curved cupboard doors. Retaining the original shaped and moulded marble top, the original gilt brass mounts, and th 'knotted bow' ring handles. Please note: this commode can make an excellent entrance hall /console table. Area of Paris, circa 1960.
