A 19th century French hall table of provincial design, the front rail fitted with two shallow drawers, standing on chamfered, square-section legs joined supporting a sturdy shelf. The pine top, legs and lower shelf top have a nicely worn limed finish, burnished by use. Originally used as a serving table, this long and narrow table is suitable for use as an entrance hallway table, or as a table to sit behind a sofa. Area of Normandy, circa 1880.
