A fine, French Louis XVI style gilt brass ‘Montgolfier’ chandelier decorated with gilt brass caryatid heads and knotted bows on a frieze with fretted foliate volutes, the body made with long chains of crystals above a 'basket' of crystal-chain, with crystal 'rosettes' and swags of crystal chains. The plinth decorated with pencil crystals and a faceted plinth ball. Internally fitted with three lights that light up the crystal chains from within. Of excellent, Classical proportions and made with fine quality crystals and workmanship. Area of Paris, circa 1930.
