An 18th century French farmhouse kitchen table, the solid oak table top beautifully burnished by use and retaining an excellent colour, showing markings from kitchen work, standing on pilaster-turned oak legs joined by an 'H' stretcher. A cutlery drawer is fitted to one of the table ends. The table shows its early construction techniques, including early type of saw cuts and structural joints with wooden pegs. Area of the Lower Normandy, circa 1780.
