A 19th century French Louis XIV style, haut-relief carved solid oak 'double-face' bureau desk, fitted with four drawers (the right-hand side drawer is a single, deep drawer). Standing on carved, barley twist-turned legs joined by a turned 'H' stretcher, each of the drawers carved with foliate scrolls and retaining its brass handle. Area of Paris, circa 1880.
