A 19th century French Napoleon III period, Louis XVI style, finely carved and gilt mantle mirror decorated with gadrooned and with string-of-pearl mouldings, the shaped pediment surmounted by a Classical urn overflowing with flowers, flanked by two cherubs, surrounded on each side by foliate wreaths. The mirror's plinth is decorated with Neoclassical scrollwork and with foliate motifs. Fitted with its original mirror. Area of Paris, circa 1870.
