An Austro-Hungarian Bench Seat

A long and narrow 19th century Austro-Hungarian 'sleigh' bench seat, the pine timbers with remnants of old paint, the backrest and the curved armrests with splats decorated with fretted foliate motifs. The lid of the seat opens to reveal a large internal compartment, for storage. Area of Austria/ Hungary, circa 1860.
