A French Louis XVI style 'Bureau Plat' desk of fine Parisian quality, the top with rounded corners, above two drawers and a seat-well, standing on turned and tapering legs. The desk is decorated with gilt brass escutcheons and with leg mounts and fitted with the original, embossed and gilt-edged leather on the top and on the extension leaves. This desk is well presented on all sides and can sit facing a room. There is ample leg-room under the writing top. Area of Paris, circa 1880.
Condition report: In good and original, unrestored condition, retaining the original locks and keys. Requiring repolishing.
