A very large Cider Pitcher

An exceptionally large, 18th century French provincial oak and steel-banded 'pichet' measuring jug, used for measuring/ serving wine and cider. This pitcher was made with fine and traditional coopering work by French wine barrel-makers. Area of Normandy, circa 1780.

Condition report: In good and original, unrestored condition.

Dimensions: Height 47 cm, diameter at belly 33 cm.
