A French Louis XVI style, solid cherrywood and gilt brass-mounted 'Bureau Plat' desk of Classical proportions, fitted with pull-out extension leaves at each end. The top and the two pull-out extensions are fitted with the original, embossed and gilt-edged calf leather. The desk's decorations are restrained, with Neoclassical 'Palmette' escutcheons and with gilt brass mouldings on the drawers and with gilt brass tips to the legs. This desk has comfortable leg-room and is finished on all sides, so that it can de displayed in the centre of a room. Retaining the original locks and keys. Area of Paris, circa 1930.

Condition report: In good and original, unrestored condition.
