A Louis XV 'Bergere en Gondole' Armchair

A French Louis XV style carved beechwood 'Bergère en Gondole' tub armchair with an exceptionally broad width and very comfortable to sit on, the separate, overfilled cushion assuring maximum comfort. The finely carved frame elegantly shaped, moulded and decorated with haut-relief carved floral and foliate motifs, standing on elegant Cabriole legs. Area of Paris, circa 1930.

Condition report: In very good and original, unrestored condition. The old fabric is in good condition and has now been steam cleaned.

Dimensions: Width 70 cm, depth 70 cm, height of backrest 84 cm, of seat 42 cm.
