A 19th century French Napoleon III period, Louis XVI style solid oak bookcase, the facade with two shaped doors fitted with the original astragal glazing and two solid panels, all framed by carved acanthus leaf mouldings. The bookcase is decorated with carved haut-relief foliate and flower scrollwork, seashell motifs and with dentil mouldings. Retaining the original, cast brass key escutcheons, lock, and internally fitted with the original, adjustable-height shelves. Area of Paris, circa 1870.
Condition report: In good and original, unrestored condition.
