A 19th century French Art Nouveau period, Louis XVI style, carved oak desk armchair retaining a nicely faded patination. The elegantly shaped backrest, the rails and Cabriole legs decorated with finely carved haut-relief foliate motifs. Fitted with finely woven rattan seat and back, and with double-layer rattan on the flanks. Lightweight and very comfortable to sit in. Area of Paris, circa 1890.
Condition report: In good and original condition, showing only slight wear in keeping with its age and use. A small, repairable hole in the woven rattan.
