A fine, mid 19th century French Napoleon III period, Louis XVI style allegorical mirror, the parcel gilt and painted frame decorated with 'string-of-pearls' and with acanthus leaf mouldings. The pediment is surmounted by a large, central 'crossed quiver and torch' motif (an allegory for the flame Passion and the arrows for Piercing Intelligence), surrounded by laurel wreath and foliate motifs (allegories for Success). Area of Paris, circa 1860.
Condition report: In excellent and original, unrestored condition. Retaining its original gilt and painted finishes.
