A Louis XV Bergère Marquise

An extra wide, early 20th century French Louis XV style walnut-patinated beechwood "Bergère en Marquise" armchair of Parisian elegance, decorated with carved haut relief mouldings, standing on elegantly shaped Cabriole legs. Upholstered in a French brocade, which is in good condition. A Marquise armchair was originally designed for comfort, and this is a perfect piece to curl up in, with a book. Area of Paris, circa 1930.
Condition report: In good and original, unrestored condition. May need steam cleaning on arrival in Melbourne.
