A 19th century French Napoleon III period, Louis XVI style gilt and bronze patinated pastille-work allegorical mirror. The pediment surmounted by an out-sized trophy with a crossed quiver and torch (allegories for Passion and Intelligence), olive brances (allegories for Peace), and a knotted bow (an allegory for the family's union). The mirror frame is decorated with continuous-ribbon and string-of-pearl mouldings. Retaining the original, hand-bevelled mirror plate. Paris, circa 1870.
