A French Regence Library Armchair

A large, 19th century French Regence style carved solid walnut library armchair decorated with a broad "camel back" back-rest, the sweeping arms ending in carved lions' heads. Standing on Classical carved pilaster legs joined by a shaped and carved stretcher base. The seat of this armchair is of a good height to sit at a table or a desk. Please note the fine quality of the crisply carved haut relief decorations. Area of Isle de France, (Greater Paris), circa 1880.
Condition report: In excellent and original, unrestored condition. The tapestry covering fabric is in very good condition.
Dimensions: Width 70 cm, depth 70 cm, height of backrest 117 cm, height of seat from floor 48 cm.
