A pair of French Napoleon III period, Louis XVI style, gilt terracotta statuettes in the spirit of Madame de Pompadour depicting a male and female villagers, he sitting on a tree trunk holding a basket, she at a fountain (where a lamb is drinking), holding a basket of fruit. The original gilding nicely worn. Area of Paris, circa 1860.

Condition report: In good and original, unrestored condition.
