A 19th century French kitchen island bench work table, the massive 6 cm thick elm top made from two planks, standing on painted square-section legs supporting a sturdy pot shelf. The top has been left unsealed (like on a chopping-board), so that the tannins in the elm timbers act as a natural disinfectant. Area of Normandy, circa 1880.
Condition report: In excellent, fully restored condition. The painted base has been given a fresh coat of milk paint to match the original.
Dimensions: 150 x 74 cm, height 95 cm.
