A fine,19th century French Louis XVI style two-door walnut bookcase, internally fitted with adjustable-height shelves. The pediment is decorated with a carved and fretted knotted-ribbon motif, an allegory for a romantic union. Retaining the original astragal glass panels and the original lock and key. The finish has the original, warm walnut patination. Area of Paris, circa 1880.
