A 19th century French Napoleon III period, Louis XVI style gilt pastille-work mirror, the shaped pediment surmounted by finials and a laurel wreath 'trophy' (an allegory for success) flanked by a flaming torch (an allegory for Passion) and a quiver of arrows (an allegory for Piercing Intelligence). The original mirror frame decorated by a haut relief pattern of fasces of acanthus leaves. Retaining all of its original and nicely-worn gilding. Area of Paris, circa 1870.
Condition report: In good and original condition, showing slight surface wear in keeping with its age.
