A French Louis XVI Bed
An early 20th century French Louis XVI style finely carved and off-white painted upholstered bed, the header and footer with shaped top rails decorated with haut-relief carved paterae, finials and fluted pilasters. With some alterations, this bed may be able to be adapted to take a standard Australian Queen size mattress. Area of Paris, circa 1930.
Condition report: In good and original condition, showing very slight wear in keeping with its age. The fabric is in usable condition but may need a stram clean.
Dimensions: Width 148 cm, height of header 117 cm, height of footer 75 cm, length of rails 192 cm.
