A pair of mid 19th century French Napoleon III period cast iron firedogs, decorated with two busts - one of Napoleon III's mother, Hortense de Beauharnais, the other of his wife, Eugénie de Montijo, dressed and coiffed in period style. The rear of each firedog embossed with an anchor hallmark and "C F". Area of Paris, circa 1870.

Condition report: In good and original condition.
