A well-proportioned 19th century French Louis XVI style solid walnut Bergere wingback armchair, finely carved with haut-relief 'continuous ribbon' and egg-and dart mouldings, the front rail with a central, laurel wreath tied with a bow. The talering and fluted legs surmounted by paterae. Upholstered with a separate seat cushion for extra comfort. Area of Paris, circa 1870.
