A pair of French Louis XVI style carved and gilded 'Fauteuil' armchairs of Parisian elegance, decorated with haut-relief carved Neoclassical motifs including paterae, acanthus leaves, string-of-pearl and 'woven-rope' mouldings. Please note the wonderful, Classical proportions and the masculine character of these armchairs. Area of Paris, circa 1900.

Condition report: In good and original condition and showing surface wear in keeping with age and use. Now stripped of the old upholstery. Please feel free to ask our workshop for a quote for restoration and upholstery costs.
