A Parisian Louis XVI Duchesse Brisée

A fine and large, mid 19th century Napoleon III period Parisian Louis XVI style carved mahogany and upholstered two-piece Duchesse Brisée, (a large armchair with its fitted, long tabouret stool). Note the quality of the fine cabinet-making work, including the haut-relief carved 'ribbon' mouldings, paterae and fluting. Designed for comfort and relaxation. Area of Paris, circa 1860.
Condition report: In excellent, unrestored condition. The fabric is in good condition, and has just been steam cleaned. A small, quick-to-do repair is required to the top scroll on the backrest.
Dimensions: Width 63 cm, overall length 140 cm, height of backrest 105 cm.
