A pair of Louis XVI Bergere Armchairs
A pair of elegant and comfortable, finely carved and gilt French Louis XVI style "Bergeres a Oreilles" wingback armchairs, the frames decorated with Neoclassical motifs such as ‘continuous ribbon’ pattern mouldings, acanthus leaves and paterae, the backrest with a knotted ribbon and flower motif crest. The gilt finish is nicely worn and dulled. Area of Paris, circa 1880. Please note: this pair of armchairs match the settee #11656. They sell separately from the settee. Price is for the pair.
Condition report: Complete and in good, unrestored condition. The fabric needing replacing.
