A 19th century French Louis XVI style 'bureau plat' desk of good Parisian quality, the faded, 'plum pudding' mahogany decorated with gilt brass escutcheons and mounts. The top fitted with an embossed and gilt-edged black leather. This desk is decorated on both sides and can sit in the centre of a room. There is ample leg-room under the shallow, central drawer. Area of Paris, circa 1880.
