An elegant 19th century French Louis XVI style carved solid walnut and book-matched walnut bed, the bed head and footer decorated with finely carved paterae, egg-and-dart, string-of-pearl and acanthus-leaf mouldings and fitted with finely turned and carved pilasters and finials. Retaining an excellent, bronze-like walnut patina with the original side rails. Area of Paris, circa 1880. Using the full width of this bed we can fit a 152 cm wide Queen-size mattress. The side rails may need to be lengthened to fit the standard Queen mattress length.
