A 19th century French Louis XVI style Queen size bed comprising an arched bedhead and footer, finely carved with 'continuous-ribbon' mouldings, painted and upholstered. Retaining the two gadrooned side rails and fitted a slatted base. This bed will take a standard Queen size mattress. Area of Paris, circa 1880.
The width of this bed allows for a standard Australian double-bed size mattress, but please note that the side rails have been sympathetically lengthened, so as to accommodate a Queen-size mattress on this bed.
Condition report: In very good condition. The side rails have been sympathetically extended to the standard Australian 203 cm length.
Dimensions: Width 150 cm, height of bead head 130 cm.
