A pair of French wall lights of exceptional quality wrought iron and with their original and well-patinated metal colours, decorated with large and parcel-gilt tole (pressed metal) leaves. Attibuted to Gilbert Poillerat (1902-1988), a renown French designer specialising in wrought iron work. Poillerat became a teacher at the "the École Nationale des Arts Decoratifs". Area of Paris, circa 1940.
