An early 20th century Italian high-quality plaster cast of Andrea del Verrocchio's bust of a young David. Verrocchio (Florence 1435 – 1488), was a renown painter, sculptor and goldsmith of the Florentine Renaissance. David, (who fought against Goliath), is one of the symbols of early Renaissance Florence. Legend has it that this bust is the portrait of a young Leonardo da Vinci. Area of Florence, circa 1900.
Condition report: In good and original condition, showing slight wear in keeping with its age. Some small chipping on the plinth and an old household 'patina' absorbed into the plaster..
